The Ethereum block propagation protocol, released on Oct. 20, 2026, went live on mainnet with Signal and Accelerate services for validator operators.

mump2p is an Ethereum block propagation protocol. It was released on Oct. 20, 2026. Per the company blog, mump2p went live on Ethereum mainnet and became available for any validator operator to run. It carried beacon block data across the network to connected validator nodes. A service called Signal, built for receiving beacon block data, was open to all Ethereum validator operators. A service called Accelerate, built for sending proposed blocks to other validators, was offered through self-serve onboarding to larger operators. Operators signed up through a web console that combined self-serve setup, monitoring and admin tools. A public dashboard displayed performance data aggregated from the nodes running mump2p. The protocol used Random Linear Network Coding, an erasure code, to shard, encode and decode block data. Nodes known as Flexnodes forwarded coded shards across a global mesh and generated additional shards. The protocol was developed by Optimum, as described in a company blog post.

The release made the protocol available on Ethereum mainnet. Validator operators could access the services provided. Signal focused on receiving beacon block data. Accelerate focused on sending proposed blocks to other validators. The web console supported setup, monitoring and admin tools in one place. The public dashboard showed aggregated performance data from participating nodes. Random Linear Network Coding handled the sharding, encoding and decoding of block data. Flexnodes supported the forwarding of coded shards over the global mesh and created extra shards as needed.

The company blog noted the mainnet availability for validator operators. The protocol connected nodes running the services. Beacon block data moved through the network to those nodes. Signal remained open for all operators. Accelerate used self-serve onboarding for larger operators. The web console served as the entry point for operators. The dashboard presented performance information from the nodes. The coding method supported the data handling process. Flexnodes played a role in the mesh network structure.

The go-live date was Oct. 20, 2026. The protocol reached validator operators on mainnet. Services included Signal and Accelerate. The web console and dashboard supported operator activities. The network coding approach and Flexnode setup formed part of the design. The company blog described the development by Optimum. These elements combined to support the block propagation protocol on Ethereum mainnet.
